The East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project will improve connections to key destinations. The 6.7-mile southern segment includes 11 new stations and a Maintenance & Storage Facility, while the 2.5-mile northern segment is under study.
Status
Metro has completed the preliminary engineering design for the East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project and awarded the Progressive Design Build (PDB) contract to San Fernando Transit Constructors Joint Venture (SFTC JV). The first of seven Advanced Utility Adjustments (AUA) work packages was awarded in late 2022 and completed in March 2024. The remaining six work packages are set to begin in Fall 2024. Southern California Gas (SCG) relocations are ongoing throughout the Project corridor. Real estate activities will continue through 2027, with a Metro-approved Relocation Plan to assist impacted businesses and individuals.
