I-405 Auxiliary Lanes (I-105 to Artesia Bl)

The Project is a bundle of 7 auxiliary lanes from I-105 to Artesia Boulevard. This will improve the current operational/weaving deficiencies and mobility and safety on north & southbound I-405 within the project limits. Multimodal Elements: High visibility crosswalks, Pedestrian flashing beacons, and Pedestrian and cyclist signage.

Status

The project Approval and Environmental Document (PAED) phase was finished in the Summer of 2020. The design phase started in March 2022 and is anticipated to finish in Summer 2025.

Project Schedule: Final Design completion in Summer 2025

Project Sponsor: Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro)

Partner Agencies: California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG)
