Metro K Line Northern Extension

The Metro K Line Northern Extension would fill a gap in Metro’s developing system to connect four major rail lines and six of the highest ridership bus lines in LA County.

The Metro K Line Northern Extension (KNE) would link to the Metro C, E, D, and B Lines, connecting four major rail lines and six of the highest ridership bus lines in LA County. This project creates a crucial north-south link by extending the K Line underground from the Metro E Line to West Adams, Mid-City, Miracle Mile, West Hollywood, and Hollywood. With numerous transit connections, regional destinations, and major employment centers, this project will improve access to jobs and essential services across LA County.

Status

The project team posted an additional Frequently Asked Questions document discussing real estate, tunneling, and monitoring during construction.  (Posted September 13, 2024)
Metro is actively reviewing the public comments and findings from the Draft EIR, technical analysis, and stakeholder input to recommend a preferred alignment, known as the “Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA)” to the Metro Board of Directors.
