Women Are A Driving Force For Us
As we build a better transportation future for LA County, Metro’s team of top talent depends on a growing number of dedicated and innovative women.
Metro is an inclusive workplace, and it’s important that we have women in all ranks.
One example: Nearly 2,300 women on our Operations team—operating and maintaining our fleet of buses and rail—are doing critical work every day to literally move Metro forward.
We are committed to reflecting the communities we serve, and supporting career opportunities and advancement for everyone.
Our Leadership Academy program is made up of at least 50% women participants, creating a high-potential talent pool for the senior leadership roles at Metro. An example of our professional growth programs, the 12-month academy is designed to equip our existing workforce with a strong understanding of public transit and the tools to lead confidently.
Women are having a big impact at Metro.
With progressive policies and practices in our workplace, we’ve created the Women & Girls Governing Council. The council is a diverse group of employees working together to accelerate change at Metro— because progress for women is progress for everyone.
We value our people and encourage work-life balance.
Understanding what’s a priority for all employees and their families, Metro offers comprehensive medical and dental plans. We also offer perks and benefits that encourage a good work-life balance, including flexible work schedule, parental leave and a baby bonding program.
Metro is an equal employment opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination in hiring and employment consistent with federal, California and local requirements. Learn more about Metro’s Equal Employment Opportunity Program.
