Setting the stage for the opening of the LAX/Metro Transit Center, the C and K Lines were reconfigured on November 3, 2024, and a shiny new station opened at Aviation/Century to connect riders to more jobs, local businesses and attractions.
What to Expect on November 3
- The C Line will operate between Norwalk Station and the new Aviation/Century Station, a new end-of-line for the C Line. Check out the updated C Line schedule (effective 12/15) for improved connections between C and K Lines at Aviation/Century Station.
- The K Line will operate between Expo/Crenshaw Station and Westchester/Veterans Station, and between the new Aviation/Century Station and Redondo Beach Station, a new end-of-line for the K Line. Check out the updated K Line schedule (effective 12/15) for improved connections between C and K Lines at Aviation/Century Station.
- Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas and Redondo Beach Stations will become part of the south segment of the K Line.
- The 857 C & K Line Link bus shuttle will continue to connect riders between lines, with a new stop at Aviation/Century Station. Check out the updated 857 C & K Line Link schedule (effective 11/3).
- Riders will need to use Aviation/Century to transfer between C and K Lines and the C & K Line Link bus shuttle.
During this period, we’ll also be testing trains to prepare for the opening of the new LAX/Metro Transit Center Station. We promise to make the transition as smooth as possible, but you may see and hear old and new names at times as we test new service and open new stations.

Yes, riders will continue to use the 857 C & K Line Link to connect between Westchester/Veterans and Aviation/LAX, with a new stop at the new Aviation/Century Station.
C Line riders east of Aviation/LAX Station will need to use the new Aviation/Century Station to transfer to Mariposa, El Segundo, Douglas and Redondo Beach Stations. These four stations will become part of the south segment of the K Line.
Yes, the Metro Connector shuttle to/from LAX will continue to operate out of Aviation/LAX Station after service is reconfigured, with a new stop at Aviation/Century. The shuttle will move to the new LAX/Metro Transit Center Station when the station opens at a later date.
The opening date for the new LAX/Metro Transit Center Station has not been set, but the C and K Line reconfiguration is a step towards finally completing the K Line alignment, and a crucial milestone toward opening the LAX/Metro Transit Center.
When the new LAX/Metro Transit Center Station opens, bus and shuttle connections currently operating out of Aviation/LAX Station will operate out of the new station. The LAX Automated People Mover (APM) will connect to Aviation/LAX Station when it begins full operations in January 2026.
No, when the new LAX/Metro Transit Center Station opens, riders will be able to connect between Expo/Crenshaw and Redondo Beach, transfer-free. Aviation/LAX Station will also be renamed to Aviation/Imperial. See the graphic below:
No, Park & Ride Lots will not be available at the new Aviation/Century or LAX/Metro Transit Center Stations. But there are various Park & Rides available at connecting C and K Line Stations. For a list of parking lots, visit metro.net/parking.
