Childcare Assistance

  • The YMCA offers free childcare and activities for displaced families and essential workers. Registration: Visit the YMCA website.
  • Los Angeles Unified also provides telehealth mental health services for children. Visit lausd.org for details.
  • LA County Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting FREE Care Camps for youth impacted by the fires through January 31. For more information on locations or to register your child, visit the department’s Care Camp website.

  • LA Metro Wildfire Relief Assistance Fund – Every dollar you donate goes directly to Metro employees whose homes were lost in the fires. Donate now
  • Donate Your Time Off with Pay (TOWP) – If you’re a non-represented or AFSCME employee, you can support colleagues by donating your accrued leave hours in accordance with the Time Off With Pay Policy (HR 16)

Metro Bus Line 134 will resume service between Santa Monica and Trancas Canyon in Malibu on Friday, Feb. 28. Buses WILL NOT serve stops between Temescal Canyon and Rambla Vista due to damage from the Palisades Fire. Line 602 is running a modified route. In Altadena, Lines 660 and 662 are running modified routes due to the Eaton Fire. Metro is also offering discounted reduced fare programs for those impacted by the fires.
