SR-14 North Los Angeles County Safety & Mobility Improvements Project (PA/ED)

Metro has a plan to enhance safety and improve mobility in north Los Angeles County. The SR-14 corridor is known for high collision rates and unpredictable travel times. Metro is collaborating with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and North Los Angeles County Transportation Coalition (NCTC) to explore various safety and mobility improvement options.

Metro and Caltrans are evaluating alternatives that may provide safety, operational and multimodal improvements.  Alternatives will be evaluated that may include safety improvements on both the mainline and ramps, enhanced multimodal transportation options, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), wildlife habitat connectivity, and drainage improvements within the SR-14 corridor.

Status

The Project Study Report – Project Development (PSR-PDS) document was approved in August 2021.

The scoping period for the SR-14 North Los Angeles County Safety & Mobility Improvements Project (PA/ED) commenced on Monday, October 21, 2024 and concluded on December 4, 2024. Metro and Caltrans hosted three in-person scoping meetings on Thursday, November 14, Saturday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 19, 2024. A recording of one of the scoping meetings and a PDF copy of the PowerPoint presented at each scoping meeting is available to view in the Project Documents section of this webpage. These meetings were rescheduled from September 2024.
