Students Ride Free With GoPass

GoPass for K-12 and Community College Students

Students at participating K-12, Adult Schools and Community Colleges can enjoy the freedom of going anywhere, anytime for FREE on Metro buses and trains.

LAUSD students with questions about Schoology or GoPass, please call the GoPass LAUSD Hotline at 213-443-1300.

Participating schools and transit partners are being added as the GoPass Program grows.

How GoPass Works

Pick up a GoPass TAP card from your participating school.

Activate your new GoPass online or by calling  866.TAPTOGO.

Wait 1 hour for your registration to be processed, and then tap your card on a rail gate, rail validator, bus farebox, bus mobile validator, or at any TAP Vending Machine within 21 days to complete activation of your new pass. 

Ride on Metro and participating partner agencies for free through September 30, 2025.

Take a photo of the back of your GoPass TAP card in case it is lost or stolen. You can contact your school administration for a replacement card, and then visit taptogo.net/gopass to activate the new card.

If you ride with your GoPass during the month of February, you’ll automatically be entered for a chance to win an awesome VIP prize package with the LA Kings. The winner will be notified via email in early March.

TeenTix
Any 13-19 year old can sign up for a free TeenTix pass! The pass entitles teens to purchase $5 day-of-show tickets at any TeenTix partner organization in the Los Angeles area. Learn more at LA.TeenTix.org.
